Business ethics is a discipline that deals with the ethical aspects of business. Business ethics has been used over and over again to mean different things by different people. For example, at a very high level, it can mean “the ethics of business.” At a very low level, it can mean “the ethics of life.” At a very high level, it can mean “the ethics of life and death.” At a very low level, it can mean “the ethics of business.
Business ethics is a big topic. So much so that the Oxford Dictionary of American Usage (which is basically the dictionary for business) has a “business ethics” chapter.
So let’s make the ethics of business one of our main focus. We’ve talked a lot about ethics in our previous posts, but the most important part of business ethics is that it is often taught in different contexts. For example, if you get an ethics degree in business, you might be told to be very ethical in the workplace, or if you’re a CEO then you might be told to be very ethical in your personal life.
The other thing business ethics is taught in is that it is a universal human experience. I was recently reading a business ethics book and got to the point that it seemed that most people have experienced ethics in one of two contexts. Either they were taught that ethics is a universal human experience and thus everyone is expected to have ethics, or for the most part they were taught that ethics is a universal human experience and thus everyone has to act ethically, even if they don’t like it.
To be sure, we all do it, but I think the latter of these two is the more common situation. In our society, we all see ethics as something that everyone has to do, and so it is expected that we all act ethically. If you are a parent, you need to teach your children to live ethically. If you are a doctor, you need to teach your patients to act ethically.
If we are truly to live in a society in which we all act ethically, then we need to be taught to do so. Unfortunately, our society doesn’t teach ethics to its children in the same way that it does its young and old. That is where businesses come into play. If we are to live in a society in which we all act ethically, then we must be taught businesses should act in the same way.
This is a topic that has always fascinated me but this movie is really good at it. The concept of the “little evil” (you know the little bad you do for a good cause) is a concept that is a little new and fresh to the movie.
The movie focuses on the ethics of business and how they can be applied to our society. This is a good example of how you can take a concept that is so new and fresh and make it work for you. A great example of this is the movie The Good Shepherd, which deals with the ethics of farming for food. In the film the farmer’s wife becomes the one who is always there to help the farmer in the most horrible ways possible.
The same can be said of us helping each other. There are a lot of business ethics movies that focus on the negative things that happens when a company screws the customers money for a product. There are also a lot of business ethics movies that focus on the positive things that happen when a company makes more money. The only difference between these is that one is centered on the company and the other is centered on the customers.
